Day[V] made me do it.

So, I'm prepping for HSC and whatnot and I find in my Mod C folder [yes I do keep stuff reasonably organised into folders for subject and whatever] and I come across an article on simulacra all the way back from year 11, when we were doing Dorian Gray.
It's quite dense stuff, but it's absolutely genius.
Some teachers hate it though.
SummarY:
Excerpt from Jean Baudrillard's "Simulacra and Simulations - I. The Precession of Simulacra" (1983):
Translated from French [Cause all the cool philosophers and stuff are 'croutons']
He talks firstly about the 'cartographers of the Empire [who] drew up a map so detailed that it ends up covering the territory exactly', and calls this 'the most beautiful allegory of simulation'.
What Baudrillard then postulates [but he does it as though it were common knowledge] that because this map is now so perfectly accurate, what stops other maps from using this map as a reference?
Does that mean that 'reality', 'real' geography is now obsolete?
And if so, does that mean that this perfect map is now the 'reality'?
Of course, he does this with more beautiful language than I could ever dream of mustering.

Also, I hate the new Amy Pond voiceover. It's quite disgusting, I get it, but...still.
It's a new season, etc, etc. BUT STILL.
Yea, the ending's absolute bullshit.
But the middle and beginning is excellent.
At least the voiceover isn't intrusive until the end.

Picnic and fun things
"Let's go practice medicine...!"
^ Only if you're like me and really love Team Fortress 2 [300 hour soldier woo!]
So basically, came to the realisation that in uni, I'm going to look snazzier and cooler and all that. Trust me.
I'll need to get a lot of things though. Clothes, accessories, dyes. Y'now.
And.
Picnic. I think I brought enough food.
And there was enough drinks.
Also, lots of meat. Seriously. So much meat. The picnic didn't last long enough IMO.
So much fun. Water gun fights and whatnot.
Couldn't find my water gun, so I had to borrow like Ben's and Alysha's and I think maybe Sam's at one point. Not sure. Then I just ran around with water bombs. Which is good enough.
Didn't really get wet in nasty places. Just shirt and thighs/legs.
Pretty good.
Planning ahead, and I'm not really studying, which is also a problem.
Not too much on my mind, except for friends and things of that nature. It's probably not worth writing here, right?
And yes, I am going to go professional TF2.
Cause when TF3 comes out, I'll be up there already.

Bouncy Trounce!
"Movement is the flow of time"
It's one of those Saturday nights when nothing really happens.
Downloaded a Doctor Who album.
Made a souffle but it was too beautiful to exist.
Quite soon will probably be applying for other things and finding more music to listen to.
I don't even play an instrument.
Well, I do, but kinda badly.
Oh well.
What else happened today.
Fell asleep several times. Had an argument about texts and characters and whether characters and plot are necessary or even important in texts.
And general Englishy stuff.
Kael. You're a famous.
Characters drive the plot, but what if you decided to focus on the idea and the experience?
Although, that's pretty pomo, and traditional old people don't like that.
Apparently, I got 13 for my creative at Trials because the external marker is an old, about-to-retire senile old, conservative fart who's really too old to be marking.
Consequently, they may or may not have been threatened by my 'authentic' cultural narrative. Which isn't generic and shallow. And is authentic.
Some people need to have more open minds.
Can't change much though. I'm not the one with the PHD in education.
Do you like pianos? I do too.
There's not really anything on my mind, so I'll stop here.

[Zombie] Regeneration~

Wow everything looks so...new.
IT'S ALL SO NEW. AND WHITE.
Anyway. A few things that happened in the abscence that maybe I should talk about.
1) My writing style is changing [I think]
2) I don't date older women
3) I'm not gay
4) Vegetable Eater [?] and I have EXACTLY THE SAME PERSONALITY PROFILE >.>
5) Cannot wait till the HSC is over
6) I'm liking this period of time where nothing is going on. It's so relaxing and fun.
7) Maybe it's cause things are going well again
8) Were they going bad? I suppose so.
9) From life, comes death and from death comes life.
10) I'm going on a tangent
11) Considering trying to get a green bowtie for graduation
12) Bathgate will probably kill me though
13) It'll be worth it but.

You can never take anything for granted

UMAT and Essay
"Athletics? What's that?"
Tomorrow and the day after, I plan on getting 8 practice exams done, with 30 minutes revision in between each, and snacks and relaxation.
Got back essay today, most prominent comment:
"Given 5 years more study and 10,000 words this could be great. As it [is] its HSC suicide"
Compliment and an insult all in one. So succinct...
