Does everything need a reason? Yes. Why should everything have a reason? Because without it, what is the point. And i doubt you can find anything that can be done without a reason, because it's rather hard and in my view, undoable.
Which leads to the "what is the reasoning behind life?"

will you ever get to know all these reasons? not unless you try very, very hard. like, I dunno, meditate for 6 years and don't eat much.
