The big melting pot of creation.

"For those of you who can't read.." - River Song

Sadly, the holidays are coming to a close, and when they do, it feels like an economic saying I read somewhere.

"When the tide goes out, then you see who has been swimming naked."

Anyway, that's all well and good, and there's a little bit of work, but then again, teachers aren't meant to be forcing you to waste your holidays. Thus, not much of it should be marked and etc. etc. It means I can be "creative" with my responses.

Thus, with a said group work task, it's somewhat acceptable in the unsaid leader of the said group. Maybe I'll look into my notebook now.

It amazes me how Happy Apple can actually write that much. Seriously. I struggle on some days to write that much because I don't really feel like expressing the way the day unfolds or what one idiot has done to ruin said ruinous day. Then again, circular logic has never been my talent.

What amazes me even more is how people can argue with said teachers and yet refuse to argue with me. It astounds me. It's like they don't realise they can actually win against me. Although, "It's not what you say, it's how you say it". To truly understand the mechanics behind a mechanism, you need to have it used against you. It's just the mentality of fault finding. If you don't have it, then good luck, because apparently, it can't be "learned", like how you can "learn" any other skill. But I suppose practice helps.

Does anyone remember the touch typing crap a few years back? I certainly do. I hate how they force you to do this or do that or put your hands on here and there, etc. etc. In fact, I thought I couldn't type without looking back then, but now, without any training, I can do so. Funny how things work out. And to think people spend money on this. Actually, with enough use, those touch typing courses are redundant, because to type fast requires using the key map they set. Well, with a few individual styles here and there. And maybe looking down once in a while to reposition your fingers.

Perhaps the mundane isn't as mundane as it should be. "Taking things for granted" is another fancy way of saying "adaptation" when really, it's just too fancy. And yet, the fancier and wordier way is used far far more often. Why?

"If we milked the horses and rode the cows, it would be a different story."

Quotes are so nice sometimes. Especially if they sometimes don't fit in. Thus you need to look at everything from a different angle, something which I find very hard. Because it means a shifting of position.

Eventually things are fixed and shiny shiny new ideas fall into place.

Oh that's what I wanted to actually write about.

Why do we get "taken advantage of"?

The mentality behind it all; "All for one and one is me".

Now, if altruism is a....just a "good" thing, then one would think that not much of it would happen, due to the first mentality. But, because there is variation in a species, and by extension, variation in a person, things can happen without any pre-thought.

If it is an "investment", then it is just another form of "taking advantage of" someone or something. In other words, "using".

Yes, there is very little variation, and if there is, it is usually one off. Because of the limited nature of these things, it is a "virtue", the same way "life" is precious because it is easily lost and is, limited. But, virtue these days can be bought or sold. There are far and few between case of actual altruism which I would consider as not having anything "investment" like or for any gain. Which is the definition of said "altruism".

Now, to play a "devil's advocate", it leads me to wonder why we can't trust more. It is, again, the prisoner's dilemma.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prisoner%27s_dilemma

Now, that is the reason why people don't trust more. Because unless you are inspirational to a fault, it's hard to trust people with the expectation that they will trust you.

If you put your trust in people without them trusting you, it hardly works.

Hoping I finish this.
