Who knows, who cares?

"It's unfair."

Really, balancing things is all that really matters. For instance, Geo assignment and yearlies studying. Which, by the by, is what I'm sorta doing. A little of both.

1.What are the 5 Nitrogen Bases in Codons in DNA (5 marks)
2.Describe the process of Decomposition of flora and/or fauna matter (3 marks)
3.Explain the theory of plate tectonics, including why it happens (3 marks)
4.Explain why the Greenhouse Effect/Global Warming is a big issue (4 marks)
5.Explain why, in a "perfect world", all humans would be vegetarians (5 marks)

EDIT:
6.Explain how and/or why alkaline substances can still be harmful (2 marks)
7.Explain with an example why harmless alkaline substances may be slippery (2 marks)

Make sure you don't leave anything out. Oh and the scoring may not be that accurate, so I'll just guess. I'd be glad to hear some answers and some questions.

Aside from that, is human rights legislation, in geo. Which should be able to be done "in one night". Though, I don't quite trust that.

Hoping Thursday will be uneventful.

1. no
2. dead stuff gets eaten by mushrooms
3. everything is mounted on these big rock slabs, and they move because they are floating on a lake of magma
4. because too much hot and stuff becomes dead
5. because then men would be free of sin
6. they are corrosive still
7. soap is slippery and that is because that is a property of bases

1.Actinine
Thyamine
Guanine
Cytosine
What fifth one?
2.Decomposers such as fungi and microbes break down the nutrients in organic matter left behind. This organic matter is then dispersed into the soil.
3.The theory is that plates in the earth's crust are floating on the liquid mantle. The mantle's crazy convection currents move the plates around very slowly.
4.Global warming affects the entire earth's population at once and is reversible yet we are not doing anything to stop it. Vote Greens!
5.Humans do not have any natural predators (except for mosquitos and whatnot) and therefore do not pass energy onto any more creatures. In conclusion, vegetables are delicious.
6.In high concentration, alkali substances are corrosive.
7.No idea. Are banana peels alkali?

For Harvard
1.3 marks
2.2 marks (Though I guess I didn't word the question right. I was sorta looking for a word equation)
3.3 marks
4.1 mark
5.1 mark
6.1 mark (It's not the concentration that matters a lot..it's the acidity/PH)
7.0 marks

Total is...11/24

Nope, I'm wrong, +1 marks, concentrated solutions are caustic.

1. Adenine, cytosine, thymine, guanine, uracil
2. When flora/fauna dies, bacteria and fungi (the decomposers) go omnomnomnom, just like how you would go omnomnomnom on your breakfast each morning. ... The rate of decomposition depends on a number of factors, including temperature and biotic factors such as predators. The process of decomposition results in the recycling of nutrients back into the eacosystem.
3. The theory of plate tectonics states that the earth's crust is made up of plates that are constantly moving on the liquid mantle. It is believed that the movement of plates is caused by convection currents of the liquid mantle, which carry the plates around...
4. The major concern is that the number of carbon dioxide emissions, one of the greenhouse gases responsible for the greenhouse effect, is escalating at a concerning rate. If the emission of greenhouse gases is not under control, then bad bad things will happen. Global warming will devastate the earth and its inhabitants. Scientific evidence reveals that the buildup of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere results in an increase of temperature. This may result in melting of the polar caps, rising sea levels, affecting some organisms, and causing imbalance to many of the earth's fragile ecosystems. Another effect would be an increase in natural disasters which would also affect humanity as well, destroying vital food supplies and causing damage to infrastructure, etc.
5. This question is weird. Are you saying that in a perfect world, there would only be producers, first order consumers, decomposers and nothing else? It wont work. How would it be a perfect world anyways? Define perfect. Besides. If all humans died tomorrow, cows and sheep would rule the world. We've become tightly knit into the ecosystem and we've become consumers ourselves. Also. humans don't have the capability of digesting cellulose and so therefore we were made to be a carnivore/herbivore. That question was unclear/did not make sense to me.
6. Alkaline substances are caustic. Not corrosive. Who ever said they weren't harmful?
7. Soap is a base and is slippery... As for why, I have no idea.
