"That which can be made explicit to the idiot is not worth my time" - William Blake
I suppose the weirdest inspiration comes from somewhere, and that somewhere is sitting in a McDonalds restaurant listening to the world, I suppose.
Firstly is the newspaper. It has a story about how food prices are set to rise as the Government "saves the environment" and the restriction of the use of the Murray-Darling. Hence, this is the perfect opportunity to say "Hey environmentalists, still care about the environment so much that you now have to pay 1.5x more taxes and living costs for it?" Secondly, maybe it's just my household, but we don't use home heating. It's just, wear more clothes. It's not that much of a hassle, really....
Third, the age barrier. It exists for everything, and yet no-one really cares for it. Or do they? How many 9 year olds have you seen with facebook? It's quite ridiculous. Similarly is the notion of Ipod Touch-es in the hands of 7 year olds. Quite preposterous. And adults are worried about paedophiles...so much so that they need to "spoil" their children..hmm? Indeed.
Fourth is the writer of "Free Range Kids". Go google her and try to find the 7:30 report interview a little while back.
Anyway...
Hoping for the best, preparing for the worst.
